Lacrimosa - Hoffnung

Anything from this band is gold. Hope they have a video as hypnotizing as Lichtgestalt.

And they did it again! Mondfeuer is simply epic, as well as Der Freie Fall Part 1 and 2. The rest of the album is balanced between soft, meaningful songs and other faster, more "rebel" songs. Their best since Lichtgestalt.

My thought exactly. I mean, 7.8 MS, really?

I am addicted and bedazzled by Hoffnung. Had it on repeat for days. I mean, Mondfeuer is such a strong opening, truly a grandeur masterpiece. It reminded me of good old days of Elodia, Fassade and Lightgestalt, when Kyrie - Overture, Fassade and Sapphire just took my breath away instantly. Die Unbekannte Farbe is one of the best songs in Lacrimosa history, it has such dense and strong woeful atmosphere and I still claim noone but Tilo can deliver such experience. Unterwelt reminds me so nicely of Siesht Du Mihc Im Licht?, Kaleidoscope and Thunder And Lightning are so wonderfully dynamic and both parts of Der Freie Fall are nothing less than hypnotizing and marvelous. The dynamics and variety on this album is amazing; the bombastic and flamboyant orchestrations, atmospheric keyboard melodies, heavy guitar riffing, pouding rhythm section, Anne's serene voice and Tilo's perfect performance.... I mean, how he shifts from grieving to raging, intensifies his voice, screams,.... He truly is one of the last great gothic metal musicias still standing and ongoing. 9/10 for me for sure.

It's a great album, one of their best works, in fact. The more fast paced songs have been stuck in my head for days now, the slower and more emotional ones are so beautiful and intense, and you can tell everything is genuine and done for pure pleasure and with full respect for the art.

I like how the comments here are not typical Metalstorm "Their early work was better..." Hoffnung already blows me away. I think only Tilo can create this perfect merge of classical and heavy.

That's what it means to not sell out and continue to do music with genuine love for it.

An average album under heavy influence of industrial music which makes it almost non-gothic...

This album is more beautiful than any transcendental dream. Tilo is nothing short of a genius.

Beautiful, emotional and still heavy. One of their best, that's for sure.
