Well let me start by saying, I was expecting more from this band really, I've heard a lot of great comments regarding this band actually, so I thought I was about to hear one of the most technical Death Metal bands ever, guess I was wrong. Yes this band is Technical, but I was literally shocked when I realized how "Theory In Practice" suck at the songwriting.

Yes the music is technical and good, but I've heard much better bands believe me, putting aside that fact I'll talk about the band per-se; the music is actually very intense and above all, really powerful, but there are many "added" melodies all along the album, it really seems this guys ran out of ideas and decided one day "hey?maybe we can add some harmonics here and some melodies there?that way we will sound more technical", this "last minute melodies" made the album sound really weird and insanely unbalanced.

The riffing is catchy at times, and the whole instrumentation sounds talented, I have no complaints there, apparently this guys are really gifted after all, even the solos and leads are overwhelming and complex, too bad they suck at songwriting that much, the vocals are actually average, I have nothing against high-pitched vocalizations though, but this vocalist sounds annoying at times.

I found most songs to be boring? but all in all It's a good album after all, but I won't play it often, in fact, I am not sure if I will play it again someday. I am aware this band is good concerning the execution, and I know many metal-heads respect "Theory In Practice", but I will always prefer Martyr or Spawn Of Possession over this band any day, "Theory In Practice" is just?not my cup of tea.

Good Tracks: "Phase 5: Post Human Era"

Good review. The instruments are played very well and this album is catchy, but it can get boring at times. I still enjoy it quite a bit though.

Yeah, this is a boring album. Filled to the brim with wankery. This could be really good, if they had a better picture of what they wanted to do.

Agree with the review, their "wankery" actually matured on Colonizing the Sun so I rather recommend that record.
