New band for me, hearing a bit of Emperor in this.

Haven't listened to Emperor but I fucking love Nightbringer and if Emperor is anything like this I should get to it soon. Btw you should get check out the last album as well which is 70+ minutes of truly epic 2nd wave bm with heavy and relentless riffage and a strong sense of melody too.

Wow, I would never guess that there are people in this world who have not heard Emperor's music at all... Every self-proclaimed black metal fan should know them. An exceptional band.

I am aware of Emperor as an must-listen classic. I've only been hesitant because they are branded "symphonic black" and find the genre a bit too cheesy. I was even thinking of checking out their debut today as LOG said it will be similar to this.

Also been heavily listening to Ego Dominus Tuus to get ready for this.

Not really similar, more like similarities. I hear this as a mix between the early orthodox DsO and Emperor. The bombastic stuff here reminds me of Emperor. But as you said, its a good chance youll find them a bit cheesy.

Never cared for emperor or any other classic BM band of 2nd wave , except for mayhem. But also in that case I only care about their non-2nd wave albums.
Then again, I consideer 99% of black metal to be shit .So I guess I'm not a BM fan.

Coming out is always a hard thing. Why here, in this album?

Not my type artwork, der roz will know what I mean, music is mix between death and black, I wish it was more blöackiscxh sound as other bands, I never really get this band so much well, some say winter lyrics sucks, but I don't give a damn.
'Still interesting to listen this one, sometimes . I will try re listen older albums

I should probably give this a real good listen at some point, to give it a fair chance, but so far it sounds merely decent. The artwork is better than the music.
