Paragon plays "Paragon's music"? Ho no sorry the band plays "true" Power Metal a bit like our "killers" of Manowar. Years after years Paragon release new albums which all follow the same road, the road of the basic warrior Power Metal, a kind of music that I rarely find attractive if you want my opinion? But they have fans and a lot of Metalheads like to listen to their albums so they will probably be happy to hear that Paragon release this year their new album, "Forgotten Prophecies".

"Forgotten Prophecies" is all but not original but if you like "we're warriors" choruses no doubt that you'll enjoy this new release. That's simple Paragon plays Metal a la Manowar which the difference that it's a lot darker than the last Manowar for example. But I don't really need to describe a lot more this kind of music, it's just some kind of simple "catchy" Metal and except if you're a fan of this musical genre, I can tell you that it can become quickly boring after some listening.

Paragon used to work with the same producer in the past Piet Sielck but they wanted to change a bit and worked on this album with the duet Steve Quellmalz and Arne Wachtmann. The result without being bad is not really convincing and if the sound is louder than on previous releases I cannot say that it's better. Sometime it's even too loud in my opinion and if the music of Paragon sounds a bit more aggressive it doesn't help a lot the music of the band which lacks a bit of deepness now. On the other hand, in the style I have nothing to say against the performances of the guys, Paragon knows how to plays this kind of Metal and the fact that you'll like this album will simply depend on the fact that you like this kind of Metal or not and if you're a fan, no problem?

If you were looking for something new with this album, just go away. Paragon is in the category of these bands which never try to do something new and only play the same kind of music? but at least they know how to do it well. "Forgotten Prophecies" is recommended to all the fans of the band and to all the ones who like "true heavy metal (of steel?)" but the others will probably not find anything for them here.

Agree with this score. There is only 2 songs which I think are great and one of them is an Overkill cover

"If you were looking for something new with this album, just go away. Paragon is in the category of these bands which never try to do something new and only play the same kind of music"

IMO the following album is different, maybe not in metal in general different, but at least on this band's scale different.
