Another ultra brutal attack from the guys of Comatose Music, Bloodsoaked is one of those "one man bands" like Putrid Pile playing brutal Death with a gory theme?just like Putrid Pile. Well, even though this is not the most original scheme you'll ever see, Bloodsoaked manages to keep their music somehow fresh and entertaining, it's catchy and that's exactly what saves this album from drowning.

Now, this album is in fact good, if you're looking for solid Brutal Death that makes you head-bang with no particular reason you'll be more than pleased. The thing is, "Brutally Butchered" offers straight hostility and goes directly to the point and never looks back; the bad thing is that we've heard this kind of concept way too many times since 1995, we've reached the point where this type of albums are excellent only if you're a fan or a collector, the rest of the people won't be surprised at all.

I guess the "Technical" wave was what destroyed our ability to be surprised by an unstoppable brutal release, but that's just another point. The truth is Bloodsoaked ,while having some cool assets, never truly exploits them; the songwriting never grows on your brain and it gets a little tedious when trying to replay this piece due to the lack of complex structures or versatile music. Now let's take a look at the other face; Brutal maniacs won't ever get tired of playing this blasting disc, they'll love the crushing patterns and the insanely violent style, it's just a matter of taste.

It will be hard for this album to kill its own partners, but it's a good attempt at least; I think it would be wise to keep an eye on this band, let's give this guy another chance; he might nail our spines next time.

Best Tracks: "Sexual Mutilation", "Self Mutilation"

Saw this on the Comatose Music website and had me interested, yet wanted to read a review of it first. From the review, it sounds just like any other brutal death band/album to come out over the years as its rare to find anyhting really new with the genre.

Although thats not really a bad thing, I shall check this one out when I get the chance. Sounds intersesting none the less for me as a brutal death metal fan.

I have this album, and the shirt too. Pretty solid old-school death metal, but like you guys said, suffers from not being very original. Good review, good rating.
