So instead I guess I have to spend the whole review talking about the fuckin' music or something. Fine. Breed of a Dying Sun, a debut release, is a pretty "blah" record. It just lacks staying power and doesn't present any new ideas. Especially if you're familiar with black metal on even a basic level. I'm talking about the people who only know of Burzum and shit like that. Thankfully the album is barely longer than your average EP, so at least you aren't forced to sit for an hour "digesting" what can only be described as an appetizer.
And that's coming from someone who fucking loves appetizers.
Anyway. Black metal. Dissonance, tremolo riffing, a wall of feedback, blastbeats, that "fuzzy" production value... I dunno, I guess it makes you feel all warm and cozy inside. Not exactly what Varg had in mind when pioneering the genre, except of course when he was busy lighting fire to one of God's vacation resorts.
The instrumentation is barely noticeable since everything is so heavily buried in the mix and the fuzzed-out production drowns out the majority of the sound. Not that it's a terrible loss. If you really sit and focus and listen to everything going on, you'll realize there really isn't that much hiding behind the wall of feedback. If anything, Breed of a Dying Sun is something I'd suggest to those who are looking for something similar to Raventale. It's not by any means groundbreaking, it doesn't have any replay value, you aren't going to feel as if you've missed out on something if you never get around to hearing it, and you probably won't find any redeeming qualities that I haven't already pointed out: none.
Work on your identity, don't be afraid to experiment, and maybe show some confidence in your musical ability and stop hiding behind a suffocating production. This has been a message brought to you by someone who doesn't enjoy his time being wasted.

I like the production  just think they should turn up the cymbals louder and use a bit more high frequency distortion and play a bit faster to drown everything more
