Angtoria is the new project of the well know female singer Sarah Jezebel Deva [Therion, COF, Covenant, Mortiis?] and the Rehn brothers, Chris [Abyssos] and Tommy. The music of Angtoria you already understood it, uses the excellent talents of vocalist of Sarah but also the great talent of composition of Chris and Tommy. At the end we have a Symphonic Metal which will become without any doubts a reference in the style?
Through this first demo, it's certain that we see all the potential of this band. Of course I don't have to talk a lot about Sara which don't have a very particular and original voice, but only a magnificent and perfect one. If you know all her others apparitions on her others projects you already know that she sings perfectly.
The question with this new band, was to know how could be the music. And what a surprise, this is more than promising... Of course the two brothers aren't newcomers but well it's always very hard even for confirmed musicians to do something with a new band at the first time. And well there is not any problems in fact on this demo, all the songs are very well done, with a perfect and impressive production [the sound is perfect]. This is pure Symphonic Metal with great arrangements, with in general a mid tempo. This is really epic and really beautiful, and of course the voice of Sarah is perfect for this kind of music?
The four songs are in the same vein, but we have however some differences, in the music. It's always Symphonic music but for example the song "Deity Of Disgust" [a real killer] sound a bit more progressive with a lot of technical solo, and a riff which sound a bit oriental all that with in addition the excellent vocals of Martin Häggström [Zool]. The 2nd track "Confide In Me" is a great symphonic cover of the famous song of Kylie Minogue. Here again this is very well done and believe me that's not easy to do a good cover, and this one shows again all the potentiality of this band.
In fact, this demo is really promising I have no doubts that this band will do something in the Metal scene but I would like to see some songs maybe a more powerful, it could be great?
However, this is a very professional demo, something which gives you the feeling that the band can release an album without any risks. The music of Angtoria is very good, and I'm just waiting to see their first release.
One last thing however, we, the webzines do our work for free and by passion, and only to help the bands to do their promotion, because we love our music and because we want to help it to be more and more present in the musical world. We don't do that share the songs on the internet, then I hope that this new system which consist to put crappy sounds or to speak on the tracks will be over soon, because if it must be like that, believe me that soon, the bands could open their own webzines to do their promotion...
