I don't know what is more common, to find Power Metal bands with the word "seven" in their bandname, or find the ones that have the word "dragon" in theirs?
Anyway, here's Dragonheart, hailing from Brazil and playing Epic Fantasy Power Metal (like all the bands that their name starts with "dragon").

I was a little skeptic about this album, because at first glance this screams "I'm a cliché" , come on! swords, evil forces, knights in shining armors.. a little bit overused in metal, damn those Manowar.

This is a concept album about 2 kingdoms, and the story goes like this:
"A long time ago in an era almost forgotten by the gods, there were two kingdoms:
Claymored, famous for its sharp-edged tools and Fhalkior, specialized in shields and armors.
They were feared and envied by their enemies because of their power. One day when the two kingdoms were celebrating an alliance of great proportions, without any motive, the sky turned black and brought an unbelievable fear never felt before by those people. A cold darkness took the place of the daylight and from the sky terrible winged creatures of incredible size and demoniac forces came down to earth. An endless massacre was spread out on the two kingdoms, and the armies had no chance, nor time to take care of the wounded and survivors.
They protected themselves in a castle that was still standing up. The Claymored castle served as shelter for the people of the two kingdoms. Inside the ruined castle, the King of Claymored, Theodoric, swore revenge with a fury that would scare the Devil himself. But his army was not enough for such battle. Theodoric had to search for help in a friend nation, Akronis, situated five thousand miles from Claymored. Their armies alone were not enough for such journey.
So, there was only one possible solution, create one single nation, one single kingdom, based on the proud of its people, on the honor of its dead soldiers and on the fury of its king. This is the way that our fantastic journey starts... This is how starts the Throne of the Alliance..."

For some people this story is reason enough to hate this band, trust me, I know quite a few, but I listened and listened this one, and found out that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The opener track, is a spoken one, tells the story I wrote before, then comes "Throne Of the Alliance" your typical Power metal Song, fast paced, heroic chorus and catchy guitar lines. Next is "The Blacksmith" this song is more eighties Metal driven, reminded me of Manowar and other heavy metal Acts of the eighties, this one is very catchy, you'll find yourself singing "Hail The Blacksmith"!

Sadly, the rest of the record, offers nothing new, and I had a big problem with the "choirs" they were to disorganized, like a bunch of guys singing in a karaoke bar, in some songs can be a little annoying.

So, these guys need to put their act together and add new ideas to their music, they need more killer songs like "The Blacksmith" and "Sunrise In The Akronis Sky" which is my favorite track in the album. I have faith in the talent of Dragonheart, I believe that the future is going to be good for these Brazilian Metallers.
