With only 2 members in it's line up, Tyranny deliver us their debut Mcd, a painfully slow and pounding Funeral Doom Metal attack, the result? Boring as a funeral.
With only 2 songs and clocking approximately 45 minutes, you can imagine that the lengthiness of the songs are really an issue here.
I love Doom Metal, but lately the genre has became prisoner of a little thing I like to call "the turtle syndrome", meaning slow is better, slowest is really Doom.
With each track surpassing the 10 minutes mark, the pounding guitars, and the growls become unbearable, you really have to be in the mood to listen to this, maybe I'm not in the mood right now, I'll give a time, hmmm , I don't think so, I have better things to listen.
One thing I can't complain is the atmosphere created by these Finns, truly remarkable, the atmospheric keyboard and the heavy distorted guitars makes you feel like you are in a sinister oblivion, hopeless and motionless, if you're searching for dismal Doom Metal, look no further, Tyranny might be what you were looking for.
As I said, this album bored me, but I'm not the Metal police here, so if you enjoy, slow pounding lengthy Doom compositions, this just might be what you are looking for, but if like me, don't have enough time or patience to stand this kind stuff, skip away and search for something more speedy.
