Vidres A La Sang can be translated to something like "glass to the blood" the language? Is Catalonian, a language with a lot of similarities with Spanish and also is the language of choice for these Spaniards, Vidres A La Sang, and this their self-titled debut album, released by Xtreem Music.

The band plays a mixture between Death and Black Metal, the result is a interesting album, with little innovation or new elements, but enjoyable after all, I mean, like I said before, it doesn't need to be innovative or genre-defining to be good, it can be just fun to listen.
Well, this is quite a good listen, tends to become boring at times, but at least the album lasts only half an hour, so it flows quickly.

The best thing in the album, believe or not, is the lyrics department, their lyrics are entirely sung in Catalonian and dealing about poems of the recently defunct Catalonian poet Miquel Martí i Pol. A great twist from the usual gore/satanism lyrics we get from these kind of bands.

The production is great, so is the cover art, musically is also ok, but the album never reaches a climax, just goes with its furious pounding on and on, which is not bad, because the album is not brutal at all, some melodies can be detected in each song, melodies that gave the music a nice touch, if exists such thing in this kind of music.

Anyway, fine album to hear once in a while, not a transcendental release in my life, just another Extreme Metal release to enjoy and have fun.
