With passion for their music, the band called themselves With Passion, that's in my eyes a really cool name.
But as we all know, a cool name, a good title or a great cover isn't everything, the main priority is always the music.
So what does the 300:ed release from Earache Records give us, well I don't know if I can answer you that in written words.

With Passion hails from Sacramento, USA and "In the Midst of Bloodied Soil" was originally released 2004 through Reflections of Ruins Records, but after signing with Earache, they decided to re-record the EP and add two bonus tracks and release it once again, a smart choice.

Anyway, what I meant with "don't know if I can answer you in written words" is that the music With Passion plays is really strange.
You'll clearly hear strong Melodic Death Metal influences (not Gothenburg Metal), but also some that I would call Black/Thrash and in that even some modern music, Hardcore/Metalcore, but the final mix is nothing I ever heard before.
Sometimes it sounds delicious and I just can't stop digging it, but then is all of a sudden starts chaos and you'll get blastbeats and roars from diabolus himself.

What I thought before even listening to With Passion was that they were yet another of those American bands that wants to ride on the Metalcore wave that's overflows the states today.
But when I started to listen on the album I understood pretty soon that I was having preconceived notions about With Passing, something that was very foolish of me.

Even if I can't really break the wall that this music is creating before me, I've at least manage to place a foot on the other side, and I have to say that With Passion surprised me a lot.
I'm not a great fan of the band, and I can't really get into the more blackish parts but when it comes to those Melodic Death parts I'm totally lost.
If With Passion changed to a clean Melodic Death Metal band, I would bow before them and call them my kings, they are truly a exceptional MeloDeath band, I wonder if they understand that themselves.

Check Out: All the melodic death metal parts in the songs, awesome.

With Passion is a good name for a band to begin with, fortunately these guys honor their name by doing music overpoweringly; I can't deny the overall sound is a little uncooked for my taste, there are a some little mistakes in the songwriting and in the musical arrangements, but I'll be honest with you, to be their debut album it's actually intricate, and I'm impressed by the product as a whole.
