"Bloodline" is not the first album of the Swedish band Svartsyn but their fourth one actually. But on the other hand, "Bloodline" is their first album under the label from Portugal Sound Riot Records and if you like Black Metal, maybe that you'll have to check this album. This not revolutionary, this is not really original but at least, that's solid.

Yeah this album is really solid especially if you like good Black Metal. Here, you won't find symphonic stuff or noisy old school Black Metal, this is actually really modern on a side but really classic too on the other hand. I mean that this album is good, it's cool to listen to the songs that use the classic recipe, strong riffs and rhythm, aggressive blacky vocals etc but on the other hand I don't know why I don't feel a lot of emotions with this album.

I don't know, I'm actually quite sure that a lot of people who like Black Metal will like the ambiances of the album, they will love and enjoy the songs for sure but I think that the basic open-minded listener will probably be a bit bored by this release. This is not bad, not at all, but we heard it all before if you see what I mean then I think that this album will have the luck to only catch the ones that want this kind of release. And that's all?

What can I add on this album? Hum well the production is really good, this is not a trendy old school sound and it's not a problem to listen to this album, the cover is also really good and you even have two bonuses songs "Goat Throne" "Throne Of The Antichrist" from their demo "Tormentor" (and you could see the evolution of the band then).

I don't know I cannot add anything more, this album is not bad at the opposite as I said before this is really solid but so classic that only real fans of Black Metal will be able to find a real interest, then my last recommendation will be that it is an album for the die-hard fans of Black Metal and nothing more.

I know you start out saying this is their fourth album, but I prefer to consider this the second Svartsyn album as it was written and recorded in 1998.
