Listen Now!!!

I was missing this already, catchy, unpretentious Progressive Metal, and please note the word unpretentious, because encountering a Progressive Metal act that keeps it simple is quite hard nowadays. But Karma is special, the band consists of talented musicians that don't care for showing off, sure there are some solos here and there, but their ability to play is not the principal attraction of the album, the melodies and the catchy tunes that contains are the main appeal.

Catchy, catchy as hell. I left away Progressive Metal a long time ago because I was bored with the lack of simplicity of the albums, but Karma came and blasted my perceptions with their tunes. Don't get me wrong, this is 100% Progressive Metal, no hints of Power Metal or any other genre, think it as Progressive Metal with a hint of humility.

Title track opens the album with some electronic samples and heavy riffing, the structure of the song is quite complex and might get a while to get used to it, the vocals of Thiago Bianchi are quite good, he can reach high notes without sounding cheesy. Next song is probably on of my favorites and an instant hit, "Crawl" is a fantastic song with a chorus that will stick in your head for weeks. "Life" follows next and it has more aggressive vocals and even a Berimbau (Brazil's typical instrument). The album has other amazing songs like "Friend" which features a children choir and "It's Easier" which features a duet with Tito Falaschi, (who I assume is the brother of Edu Falaschi, singer from Angra).

In a nutshell, "Leave Now!!!" is a catchy, unpretentious Progressive Metal release, is too bad that the information on the web about the band is quite scarce. Recommended to all fans of the genre, you can't go wrong with such high-quality releases like this.
