The interpretation of the six (wonderful) songs of this EP is well done! Coverslave is not a band who tries to play differently the music of the band that they cover, our guys tries to play the same music than Iron Maiden. If I will never say that it's as good as Maiden, I will never say too that Coverslave is a bad band! AT the opposite, hose covers are similar to the original ones and it's funny to see that Stephane Graziani is able to nearly imitate perfectly the voice of Dickinson. Musically speaking, it's good too despite the fact that our musicians don't have the class of our British favorite dudes but it's ok really and with its good production "Killer Cuts From The Beast" is all but not a bad release.
On the other hand, the originality of this release is equal to zero. Plus, there is definitely no interest to listen to such release except if you personally know the guys or (and that's really hypothetical) if you're expecting original songs (a la Maiden sauce of course) in the future and want to see if the band will be able to do something good (the answer is "yes" in my opinion). So we'll in the future but at least you know now that you'll be able to pass a good moment if you see the name of Coverslave in a pub of your Town.
Nothing to add here, I will not rate this album which is obviously an album for the fun. But congratulation nonetheless to the guys of Coverslave for their performance, they know how to play Iron Maiden's classics! Up the Iron and thumb up for you guys (and thumb up to Brennus Music, one of the few labels who give chances to the fans too!).
