Apparently Unsafe was active for 13 years before that they finally release their first album this year, "Manipulative Progress". I don't really know what to think about this album because even if the band is not terrible, this release is a bit tedious for my ears and not really innovative. "Manipulative Progress" is just one of these numerous albums which suffer of the "not bad but not good" syndrome and unfortunately I don't believe that this first album will be like a real positive start for the band...

Oki obviously Unsafe members are able to play heavy music with big riffs but "Manipulative Progress" is not so amazing for me. Well ok some songs are correct but all in all the music is average and extremely repetitive. The main problem of "Manipulative Progress" is that the release looks similar from the beginning to the end. Even if the band tried to mix Thrash with Hardcore and even if at least they have guts, they didn't manage to write music which can catch the attention of the listeners. "Manipulative Progress" is repetitive and repetitive and extremely monotonous in the end. I listened to the album a lot of times but no seriously I didn't find any real interest in this release. As I said in the introduction this is not terrible too but so-so and tragically I can't imagine that someone will want to buy this album when you know that everyday a ton of new albums are released and that it's not hard to find something catchier in the category...

The production and the artwork are correct the singer is not bad but don't really give any real emotions to the music. In addition of the basic riffs it's hard to enjoy the music a lot. You'll not have the feeling that Unsafe is a bad band but you'll probably just be indifferent to their music...

"Manipulative Progress" is not a good start. I want to believe that Unsafe is able to play good Metal because I don't think that they're bad but I hope that they will be a bit more original in the future and that they will find a way to write riffs which stay in our head and force us to headbang. That's not the case here so have a look at the album if you want but be aware that you'll not discover anything special. Let's hope that Unsafe will be able to produce something more convincing in the future, they can do it in my opinion!
