French vocalist Marquis has been really active lately. Known for his work with Ataraxie, Mourning Dawn and Funeralium, he can now be heard on the second Hyadningar full-length The Weak Creation as well.
The Weak Album (whoops, Freudian slip there) is a Black metal record in the vein of Immortal and some good ole early Shining. And that's where this review could end.
A 67-word review would probably cause riots of unforeseen proportions though, so I'll go beyond my very best to write some more about Hyadningar. For the sake of mankind. Alrighty then, so we have tremolo riffs, mixed quite soft in the mix, some enjoyable, pronounced basslines, some capable yet bland vocals (disappointing appearance by Marquis) and some touches of melody. Whoopdidoo. It's another gray mass of blob, as soon as you turn this one on you'll probably just zoom out and stare thoughtless into the distance. Blaaah. I'm sorry, but there's really not that much to say about Hyadningar.
The Weak Creation is, well, a bit of a weak creation... (my apologies for this lame joke...) Buy it if you need to increase the size of your collection, rather than the quality.
