Some picks I haven't heard but the ones I have I can't disagree with. Some others with great closing tracks that come to my mind are: Seasons in the Abyss, Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, De Mysteriis dom Sathanas, Toxicity, Through the Ashes of Empires, Holy Diver, The Final Frontier.

Thanks! I'll have to listen to those and will maybe adjust my list. Which songs hadn't you heard before? (I'm usually the one with the least metal knowledge in a MS discussion )

Thanks for the recommendation! I just listened to Shame on the Night again - it was amazing! I hadn't listened to that song in over 2 years. I've added it to my list now

They are all great closing tracks here🖒in particular all of the Iron Maiden one's you mentioned, and Raining Blood, A Light In The Black, and One Shot At Glory, but they are all great songs you mentioned!
Here is a few of my favourites:

- Land Of The Dead - Oath Bound (Summoning)
- A Distant Flame Before the Sun- Stronghold - (Summoning)
- Treasure Island - Pile Of Skulls (Running Wild)
- Genesis - Black Hand Inn (Running Wild)
- Dom Sathanas De Mysteriis/Title song (Mayhem)
- Hearts Alive - Leviathan (Mastodon)

Most of the songs are 10 minutes +, but I like an epic ending to an album.

Not sure if Immolation is your cup of tea, but Close to a World Below (title track) closing out the album is just pure badassery

Hmm.. I think I've heard it once. But I don't remember how it sounded. I'll have to check it out again!
