Ronnie James Dio - one of very few musicians who was always doing what he wanted to do. He always created music he loves. He's never gone commercial and always been independent. When listening to his songs you can feel that the music flows straight from his heart. Dio is surely one of the best vocalist of all time and he also wrote great lyrics for his songs. But instead of adoring him I'll go straight to the main part.

Released exactly 27(!) years ago, this album is regarded as Dio's best work, and an undeniable classic in the heavy metal genre in general. Simple as that.

Not sure why they chose to start the album off with "Stand up And Shout" as opposed to "Holy Diver". The intro of HD after the faster upbeat "Stand Up and Shout" feels out of place.

Probably to get some mixing up to that traditional pattern, or i don't know. HD should be the first track IMO as well

In top 3 of the best albums of Dio's singing career, along with Rising and Heaven And Hell. Biggest hits of his can be found here, like: "Don't Talk To Strangers", "Rainbow In The Dark", "Stand Up And Shout" and of course the title track. Also, Vivian Campbell is a legit guitar GOD!
