Misplaced Hidden Title Tracks: Titles That Relate To Lyrics Of A Song From Another Album The albums in this alphabetical list do not have a regular title track. Instead, their corresponding title can be found in the lyrics of a song from another album of the band. Therefore, they qualify as both “Misplaced Title Track” (title relates to a song found on another album) as well as “Hidden Title Track” (album title is not based on a song title but only on the lyrics of a song).
Please feel free to suggest more metal/hard rock examples of these “misplaced and hidden title tracks”.

1-Track Albums It is standard that albums contain several different songs that are separated by distinct track markers. Sometimes, these songs may contribute to one story, which is the case on concept albums. The next, more radical step is to include only one long song on an album, which may be presented as a single track. These one track albums provide a special kind of journey for the listener, demanding full commitment without the help and orientation that the separation in several tracks may have provided.
This list includes albums that consist of only one single song presented in one track. Please feel free to suggest more one track metal albums.

Albums By Vocal Groups Where The Title Track Is An Instrumental Instrumental tracks on albums of vocal groups are often seen as filler material or as a possibility to show musical skills.
In contrast, the title track is often considered to be the central and defining part of an album, suggesting that the corresponding lyrics may contain important key information to the understanding of the album. Therefore, it may seem surprising that several albums of vocal groups exhibit an instrumental as title track. This alphabetical list presents albums by vocal groups where the title track is an instrumental. This concerns purely instrumental songs but may also include songs where melody lines without lyrics are vocalised. Please feel free to suggest more examples of unusual title tracks by regular vocal groups that are purely instrumental or where the lead singer does not sing lyrics.

Metal Mascots Mascots are an established and popular part of metal fan culture. In contrast to sports team mascots, they are no cute talismans, but are regarded as personification of the band and its music (or even as some kind of evil band member) that adds enormously to the identification of the fans with the band.
This alphabetical list presents well known examples by showing the album cover where the corresponding mascot first appeared, along with one or two sentences as general information. Please feel free to suggest more examples of metal mascots or share relevant information on the presented mascots.

Hidden Title Tracks – Album Titles That Come From A Song`s Lyrics Almost all album titles fall in one of two categories: The album shares the title with one of its songs (the title track) or, alternatively, the album title is independent from the songs (no title track).
However, there are examples of songs that have a central link to the album title without sharing the same name. In these cases, certain lyrics from the song were chosen as the album title. This (alphabetical) list shows the names of these “hidden title tracks” and the central lyrics that gave the name to the corresponding album. Please feel free to suggest more of your favorite metal/hard rock examples of these “hidden title tracks”.

Let`s Have Some Pvn - Word Play In Metal Albvm Titles The most difficult way to create the title for an album may be to try something that is clever and/or funny.
Likewise, making a list of these titles is also not easy as it would be a very subjective task. In order to apply at least some objective criteria, the resulting (alphabetical) list consists of album titles that contain a pun or pun-related word play ( - possibly even independent of how well these titles worked). Puns (or pun-related word play examples) rely on (1) the different possible meanings of a word or (2) the fact that there are words that sound alike but have different meanings. In addition, this list contains numbers in titles that (3) contribute to the sound of the corresponding word or (4) that fit optically to the written word. Please feel free to suggest more examples of such album titles for this list, if they fit to one of the criteria 1 – 4 (in order to keep the list in shape). Still, it would also be interesting, if you could share other clever and/or funny album or song titles in the comments.

Song Puzzles: One Song In Several Parts On Different Albums Some stories, themes or concepts are presented not just in one single song but are split in separate tracks that (often) share the same title but are distinguished by a number of the corresponding part of the song series.
However, sometimes these parts are not found together on one album, but are included on different releases of the artist. They can be found on two (or more) conceptually linked albums (where they function as part of an ensemble together with the other songs), or they can be included on independent releases (where only they alone continue their story). Therefore, the main purpose of this list is to give an overview that enables the reader to find the missing song pieces - or even to inform that these pieces exist at all. Please feel free to find and suggest more examples of these "song jigsaw puzzles": one song(concept) in separate parts on different albums.

Artwork: Progressive Metal Albums This is a list of progressive metal albums (in alphabetical order) based on their artwork. It includes iconic cover art from classic albums as well as fascinating work from more recent releases.
There is a saying that "you should not judge a book by its cover", which is of course also true in the case of music albums. However, the artwork can complement the production and give a visual introduction to the musical theme and atmosphere. More than for any other kind of music, this may be true for metal.
