TIERRA SANTA was formed in 1997 in their hometown region of La Rioja in Spain. Described as a mix between IRON MAIDEN and HAMMERFALL, this Spanish Power Metal band is immensely popular in Spain, consistently hitting the top 10 charts. They released their first album, 'Medieval', in 1998, which instantly became popular throughout Spain, and led them to the finals of the Navarra/Rioja Imagina-Rock contest.
The band launched their promotional tour playing with AVALANCH and opening for DIO during his tour in Spain. By the end of the year, TIERRA SANTA signed with Locomotive Music and in April 1999, Locomotive Music released 'Legendario'.

TIERRA SANTA launched their second promotional tour throughout Spain giving dynamically tight live performances.

In July 1999, they were part of a tribute album to IRON MAIDEN, 'Transilvania', along with other Spanish groups such as MAGO DE OZ, EASY RYDER, AEROBITCH, AVALANCH, LUJURIA, PYRAMID, ANKHARA, GRASS, SKUNK D.F., TEA, and others. They recorded "Flight of the Icarus" at Madrid's Box Studios. The national and international reviewers consider this track as one of the best on the album.

In October 1999, due to the limited distribution of the first album ´Medieval´, Locomotive Music remastered and republished it. Featuring excellent vocals and fantastic guitar work, this album is available in limited-edition digipack format.

Their third album, 'Tierras De Leyenda' is a barrage of outstanding melodic power metal. Full of pure talent and energy, this is classy power metal. Available in limited-edition digipack format.
