Anvil! Orange Goblin are alright too, got my ticket before any announcements either way.
Kingface - 31.08.2011 at 21:56
Two great announcements to kick things off!
Baz Anderson - 31.08.2011 at 21:59
Not too fussed about either... but Orange Goblin are alright.
Baz Anderson - 09.11.2011 at 14:29
Alice Cooper has confirmed... have to assume he is a headliner.
ChapuLviz - 20.01.2012 at 22:39
Sight of Emptiness has confirmed... but still do not know what day play...
DelightfulJim - 06.02.2012 at 19:05
Iced Earth and Sepultura confirmed now.
!J.O.O.E.! - 23.02.2012 at 16:07
Added:

LOCK UP, CHTHONIC, ALCEST, WINTERFYLLETH, DEMONIC RESURRECTION, HEADCHARGER, EASTERN FRONT, ANCIENT ASCENDANT

Eastern Front and Ancient Ascendant are both surprisingly good and solid bands, I recommend checking them out.
Baz Anderson - 23.02.2012 at 20:05
Lineup is getting interesting... although it is still worrying how low down they have Mayhem... I hope that won't be another weird show with the daylight, etc. but I imagine it probably will be...
DelightfulJim - 08.04.2012 at 13:45
Now that Sonisphere UK has cancelled, what are the chances we'll get Electric Wizard, Gojira, Katatonia or Kvelertak?
Feng - 17.05.2012 at 15:35
Seems Terrorizer magazine may have let slip the unannounced headliner, apparently at the end of their most recent interview with Machine Head it was stated that they are making a "special announcement" on the 6th July. Could just be coincidence but I would really not be surprised if it was correct, it fits most of the stuff BoA have been talking about with having their most prestigious headliner yet!
Baz Anderson - 17.05.2012 at 15:48
Damn, there have been rumours that it is Machine Head... and I really hoped it wouldn't be.

I've been hearing King Diamond or Slayer alot, I'm leaning more towards slayer with the announcement date. I'm not the biggest fan of Machine Head but they did put a hell of a show on when I saw them, rather have a band I like more though...
Baz Anderson - 04.06.2012 at 05:22
I wouldn't want to see Slayer again...
Sync - 08.07.2012 at 13:02
Day 2 looks really good, and hopefully can get tickets for that day in time. Anyone know if Winterfylleth's day has changed because to says both Day 2 and Day 3 on the Bloodstock website?
Baz Anderson - 08.07.2012 at 21:30
Winterfylleth are only down to play on the Friday according to the Bloodstock site from what I can see...
Valentin B - 09.07.2012 at 02:33
Imo, Machine Head would be redundant only if they were not such a great live band. thus... it's not redundant
Baz Anderson - 09.07.2012 at 15:53
From my experience, Machine Head are pretty average live. I'd be glad to be proved wrong here though.

You were at Wacken 2009.. if you weren't there to see them, they played just before Saxon on the last night and ripped the place apart.

I heard the same thing about Hellfest a well. I've seen them live once and they are quite a good live act.
Baz Anderson - 09.07.2012 at 17:49
I think I saw Enslaved instead of Machine Head in 2009. I've seen Machine Head at festivals before though... their type of metal just doesn't really do it for me.
Sync - 09.07.2012 at 18:00
Damn, according to this, Winterfylleth are playing on the Saturday now.

Now i'm torn between going on the Friday or Saturday... dang.

Machine Head ripped Hellfest apart in 2007, 2009, and also 2012. Definitely an awesome live band.

that happens, sure...
Marcel Hubregtse - 10.07.2012 at 08:32
I agree with Barry, Machine Head are nto good live at all. Same as Slayer since 2008 or Fear Factory for that matter. Very mediocre live bands currently.

The crowd went bonkers, sure. But the band wasn't good live at all those two times. Just like Heaven & Hell was mediocre live in 2009 but the crowd still went apeshit. Same for Slayer and Fear Factory in 2010, crowd went bananas but the performances were mediocre to bad.
Cynic Metalhead - 20.07.2012 at 16:26
Maan! I'll try my best to be there.
wrathchild - 07.08.2012 at 18:50
I won't be there but I'm happy they announced a live stream on dailymotion
DelightfulJim - 08.08.2012 at 16:00
Everyone else going to this, enjoy! It'll be a laugh!

!J.O.O.E.! - 13.08.2012 at 22:49
Anaal Nathrakh definitely owned the weekend. Even more so because Dave Hunt did the show (and Benediction's) hobbling on one leg after he broke the other. Behemoth were almost as good strangely enough seeing I'm not a big fan of their recent stuff (though quite liking some older material). Probably no coincidence both these shows were at when I was my most intoxicated. Enjoyed wall of deathing and pitting for Nathrakh a lot too, not something I usually do.

Mayhem were disappointing as I expected, very bad sound and a rather limp and short set. Always nice see Attila on stage though Nile I found somewhat so-so too. Orange Goblin, Witchsorrow, Sanctuary, Cambion, Sepultura were all very enjoyable and Dimmu and Machine Head were pretty ok too, along with a few others.
!J.O.O.E.! - 13.08.2012 at 23:11
Cambion were definitely the best random surprise of the weekend, especially considering they're a metalcore band, supposedly. Sounds more like groove thrash to me.

Remind me of Byzantine quite a bit.

Well I figured they're a must-see band and I do like their first few albums. They were good but I must have been pretty drunk as I can't remember much of it.

Yeah, that shit right there... That's some shit I never expected from you. Guess I don't really know what thrash you like or not.

Sepultura's first 4 albums is some of my personal favorite thrash. Also among some of the first more agressive metal I got into.

Yeah it's not something I ever really advertise as I guess I don't play them that often but it's thrash I can definitely get on board with
Baz Anderson - 14.08.2012 at 01:50
Sepultura were my #1 set of the festival. They always seem to destroy everything live.

Yeah these guys. To be honest I saw lots of weirder people than most of these though.
Promonex - 17.08.2012 at 04:59
"Clow(n?)" - that's Dr. Rockso, man! Fucken A!
Baz Anderson - 17.08.2012 at 05:31
The naked guy standing on top of everyone during Behemoth was one of the funniest things I have ever seen at a show...
Spirit Molecule - 17.08.2012 at 10:23
Hahaha Dr. Rockso. That is so awesome. If I saw the guy I would definitely buy him some beer. Oh and some cocaine
Mr. Doctor - 17.08.2012 at 18:09
