Morbid Angel - Part Ways With Guitarist Destructhor, Tucker Responds

Morbid Angel's line-up continues to crumble like a house of cards. Now, it's guitarist Thor Anders Myhren, aka Destructhor, that announces his departure. According to a statement revealed by Blabbermouth, Destructhor says the band wants someone local. He also says that he had already decided to leave the band to focus on Myrkskog. The returning frontman Steve Tucker has recently confirmed over Facebook that he doesn't know who will play the second guitar in the band.

Iron Maiden - Announce Double Album, Cover Art Unveiled

Iron Maiden have big news today! It's all about their new album, which has been revealed will be called The Book Of Souls. The legendary metallers eagerly awaited new studio album will be released globally on the 4th of September through Parlophone Records (Sanctuary Copyrights/BMG in the U.S.A.). The stunning cover art was created by Mark Wilkinson, who has worked with the band previously, and because this 11-track album has a total running time of 92 minutes, it is Iron Maiden's first ever double studio album. Soilwork - Welcome New Bassist

Soilwork have announced a line-up change. The melodic death metallers, who are about to release a new album called The Ride Majestic, have a new bassist. As of this new album cycle, the band is joined by new bassist Markus Wibom, formerly of Helsingborg hardcore group Hearts Alive. Wibom replaces longtime bassist Ola Flink, who has amicably left the group to focus on other endeavors.

Dyscarnate - To Enter The Studio, Henry Bates Departs

It has been while since death metallers Dyscarnate released new music. Their latest album, 2012's And So It Came To Pass, is finally getting a successor. The British group will be entering the studio today to record a taster of their upcoming third album. This recording will feature a very special guest on vocals. Morbid Angel - Reunite With Steve Tucker, Yeung Out, David Vincent Denies Exit

A lot seems to be happening in the Morbid Angel camp and changes are afoot. A few hours ago, guitarist/keyboardist Trey Azagthoth announced that he was working on the next Morbid Angel record with bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, who apparently is back in the band. Later on, drummer Tim "The Missile" Yeung released a statement announcing he is out of the band. Reports started flowing around that frontman David Vincent was also out of the band. However, Vincent has released a statement denying that he has left the band or was asked to leave.

Revocation - Drummer Leaves The Band

Another drummer down. Revocation just lost their original drummer Phil Dubois-Coyne. Phil has decided to pursue other musical projects and is stepping down as drummer of the band. Phil Dubois hasn't played with Revocation since suffering an arm injury last summer. Since then, the thrashers have been touring with former Job For A Cowboy drummer, Jon "The Charn" Rice and Alex Rudinger. You can expect his replacement to be announced soon.

Pentagram - Announce New Album For August

U.S. doom metal band Pentagram reunites with Peaceville Records for its new studio album, Curious Volume, to be released on August 28th. Featuring 11 classic heavy metal compositions with catchy hooks from core band members Victor Griffin, Greg Turley, and Bobby Liebling (Pete Campbell on the drums completes the lineup), the album was recorded with Swedish producer Mattias Nilsson at studios located in Maryland and Virginia. Into Eternity - Sign To Kolony Records, Releasing New Album

The biggest news from Into Eternity in years arrived today. The unique Canadian band is finally releasing a new album, seven years after The Incurable Tragedy. Yes, it has been that long already. Since then, the progressive metallers faced line-up changes, the most relevant being that they lost vocalist Stuart "Stu" Block to Iced Earth. The new vocalist is Amanda Kiernan. There is also guitarist Matthew Cuthbertson and drummer Bryan Newbury accompanying founder Tim Roth and bassist Troy Bleich. The next step for the group is the release of the new album Sirens this fall via Kolony Records.
