Arch Enemy - Official Video For New Song Unveiled

The wheels are in motion. Swedish melodic metallers Arch Enemy have just unveiled the first new song off of the upcoming effort, Will To Power. Earlier this week, the band revealed a punk cover song as appetizer. Check out the first single "The World Is Yours" below and the video directed by Patric Ullaeus.

The album will be released on September 8th through Century Media Records.

Mastermind Michael Amott comments: "We've been hard at work on the new album for a while now and we're proud to present the first taste of new Arch Enemy music in over three years with our new single and video, 'The World Is Yours'! This was the first song I wrote for the upcoming Will To Power album and Daniel (Erlandsson, drums) helped me arrange and finish it up. One of many songs we co-wrote and co-produced this time around. We had a blast recording together with the full band in the south of Sweden and then mixing with Jens Bogren, who did a superb mix and mastering - in my opinion even surpassing the epic sound on our previous record, War Eternal. People that have heard this song in particular are saying it's got the classic anthemic Arch Enemy vibe going on, and I think they might be right about that... Looking forward to playing it live on stage later this summer!"

I love the melodic guitars in the song, lovely set the video was shot at as well.

I like everything about this song except for the whispering... It seems so left field.

Could do without some of the cheesy melodic parts, but overall a nice surprise.

I'm shockingly surprised by this. Unfortunately it would appear Loomis is interchangeable in this, which is a disappointing untapped talent, but regardless, the melodies hooked me.

I guess it's better than I was expecting. Typical AE song though and some riffs are good.

We'll see what the rest brings...

That chorus couldn't possibly be more generic. I know I've heard atleast one really similar chorus before, I'll have to find out where.

Brutal, Epic, and Love the melody, sweet range of changes too.

Can't get enough of melodic tracks.

Not exactly bad, but i was expecting way more after reading about the "classic anthemic Arch Enemy vibe". It's a typical AE song indeed, but unfortunately nothing special too.

Without this 'show' and poses it would be much more natural. However it is metal...yeea:)
How would they sound with small combos and with no lights?

More memorable than most of the songs on the last album...still not really won over though.

It starts really good, but then it fades 'cause the song it's too long. Too many clichés in one song.
Great musicians, but poor vocals.

Two things kinda disappointing: waste of Loomis' talent, and the lyrics is not written well, but overall beyond my expectations.

Pretty standard Arch Enemy all round. Decent but nothing to write home about.

I always expect so much more from the band. They have one of the strongest lineups in all of metal, and then do nothing with it. They have Jeff fucking Loomis and still make generic melodeath. I'm also still not sold on Alissa, I'm a massive fan of her work on The Agonist but she doesn't have the same vile hatred that Angela did. She worked great in a more creative and varied environment, her growls alone just aren't enough. I just hope they have another pleasant surprise like "Avalanche" and "Time Is Black" on the previous album.
