Because it's strong, agressive, fast, the solos are back, and it has SOME ELEMENTS form the old stuff. I loved ...And Justice For All so there's not really a reason for me to hate Death Magnetic. I enjoy every Metallica album, some more than others,. but DM is deffinitely in teh ones I like the most.
I mean, you can't expect that they make the same stuff they did in 83, when they were like 20 years old, when it's 2008, and they're 45 years old. Maybe they're not so skilled, maybe the album is mediocre, but since I am no musician, I can't really judge. People who bashed how "mediocre" the album supposedly is, for like 4 pages in teh past topic whould go and listen to Dram Theater or Porcupine Tree or sth. Like that, you'll find no mediocre stuff there.

Eh. It's good stuff. But that's as far as it will ever go. None of it is spectacular. Just a good listen to enjoy every so often. Something I wont skip over when it pops up on shuffle with my iPod. Also... I like & love everything they've ever done, so there's not much I'd ever skip over.

I've downloaded (few months ago) a live concert of them, taped at Rock am Ring last year. My first impression were realy amazing...great performance, almost perfect setlist, outstanding crowd singing along all the time. Setlist: 01.Intro, 02.Creeping Death, 03.From Whom The Bell Tolls, 04.Ride The Lightning, 05.Harvester Of Sorrow, 06.Bleeding Me, 07.No Remorse, 08.Devil's Dance, 09....And Justice For All, 10.Fade To Black, 11.Master Of Puppets, 12.Whiplash, 13.Nothing Else Matters, 14. Sad But True, 14.One, 15.Enter Sandman, 16.Die, die My Darling, 17.Motorbreath, 19.Seek And Destroy I think it's something like that if I'm not wrong  The quality (sound and everything else) of the video is also very good. If you like them, you'll definitely like this stuff.

I find it hilarious that Kid Rock got to use the instrumental of "Sad but True" for his "American Badass" song. especially since Kid Rock went on live US tv awhile back and basically told everyone to steal music, his and everyone elses.

Metallica is my personal favorite metal band, and it has been that way since I was born, and it will always be that way.:banger2: I say that they have never released a bad album! I can't wait to see them live. I have watched all of Live Sh*t Binge and Purge, and they put on one awesome show! I have heard from friends who went to the concerts and said that it was the greatest show they had ever been to. I don't care if you say St. Anger was a load of crap, I love Metallica. And just seeing them live is enough to shut anyone up!

Finally they are coming back here to Colombia, and it's now confirmed. Show is on march 10, 2010, and even though the tickets are expensive (cheapest one would be an equivalent to U$60, and the most expensive about U$170), I'll see what I can do to go to the most expensive one I just think that if you're going to a concert is to be right there in the action, at a "spit distance" from the stage, as I call it, hehe. Anyone been to a show recently?
