Today is 18 September and it's the national day in Chile. It was the day of the first government junta and it was the first big step towards independence from Spain.

Damn... We used to have a lot of fun those days. We had holydays both 18th and 19th of september. And the food is way too good those days. And I'm so far away now lol.

We will do something special on the weekend I suppose.

Believe it or not.. mexicans were in the american civil war i think thats something that alot of americans dont even know about american history.

Many Americans appear to know nothing about nothing...

Here's two interesting facts about France. Champagne, as Benjamin so rightly points out in Wayne's World, is only produced in the French baring it's name. Any other sparkling wine produced outside of Champagne is not Champagne. The modern methods of brewing Champagne were created by a French monk named Don Perignon during the 17th century. Dom Perignon is today one of the leading names in the Champagne industry.

The second fact concerns the town of Calais where I spent most of my life. Calais was a town that existed back in the Roman days. It's position as the closest French point to Britain meant that it become a strong point for commerce. In the 14th century, King Edward III, of England, decided to capture Calais in order to reduce custom taxes on imported goods. After a struggle, the English ruler was victorious and Calais remained under British rule for almost 200 years. An expression exists in Calais that supposedly has it's origin from the English occupation. It is a common insult that Calaisiens call the English "batard d'inglais" (litteraly "English bastard") as a sentiment of remorse dating from this period and enforced during WWII where British troops were often rude to it's inhabitants.

Mexico's national day was a few days ago, 16 September, but throughout the years, that day had lost it's meaning I guess, people only celebrate it as an excuse for getting drunk and stuff, the same with most national holidays.

I just noticed this thread, and realized that no one probably knows about mine.

I've a friend who is half Costa Rican, all I really know about Costa Rica is you make a weird high pitched screaming sort of noise to show you a happy to see someone.

Wow what's with the attitude people? and yes I LOVE Greenland.. I'm going to go there someday.. I was going to go there last year but I would have to fly first to the UK or Denmark ...... (TOO BROKE!!!) and yes i do live in the united states... can't wait to get the heck out of here no offense.... and no I don't speak greenlandic but I wouldn't mind studying it, anyhow Costa Rica is known for its diverse Rain Forests and its vast amounts of animals... it is safer in comparison to other central american countries and has had no wars for the past decade (correct me if I'm wrong).. wow I feel so ignorant in regards of Costa Rica... oh yeah they love to decorate and paint these wooden carts with big wheels that they carry stuff with, and they paint them in all sorts of colors. In the last few years it has become a very popular tourist spot due to its abundance of Jungle Reserves that Costa Rica has. Anyways.... I'm surprised of my personal description of the wonders of Costa Rica, I should go there someday. It's probably cheaper than my trip to Greenland.

Also Armenia owns Gorny Karabah IMO calls thet area what Azerbajan owns nowdays and they also are ortodox, christianity survive there in small ebautifiil moutain monastaries and are oldest, purets form of cristianity like in Greece

Russians are our military strategic partners allready more then 300 years .
Armenia and Azerbaijan is former mambers of USSR ... and both hitherto good relationship
with Russia . What about conflict with Azers , then it is bound with gorny karabakh .
Gorny karabakh is a ancient Armenian country , but when soviet authorities came in Armenia (1920-1922 yers probably) gorny karabakh have oppressively gived to Azerbajan .... and after fall of the soviet empire (1991) has began the war between two countries , in which we have won , and have returned our historycal lands..

@Vishapapkahr: seeing your profile the Armenia Empire territory (in medieval, I guess), wonder what happen to your country or the historical Empire during the wide invasion of KHAN ?
