Well basically just list out your favourite artists. It doesn't have to be artists who work with only metal bands.
Also post links of their work or links to their sites, blogs etc

For me I would have to say

John Dyer - Baroness, Pig Destroyer, Black Tusk, Kylesa, Kvelertak and a few more.
http://www.myspace.com/johndyerbaizley
This guy is awesome, he's pretty much one of my favourites. I love pretty much all his artwork. You can make out a John Dyer as soon as you see it. He's got a very distinctive style with the use of beautiful women, some might say overuse, but i have no complains

Malleus Rock Art Lab( Urlo, Lu, Poia) - Ufomammut, Swans, Kyuss, Roadburn, Supernatural Cat
http://malleusdelic.wordpress.com/
www.malleusdelic.com
Ok these guys are the best at screens, I mean i haven't seen better work coming out in while. I just love everything they put out. Their posters are done with such care and they really put a lot of work into each design. Again these guys have a thing for women a lot of beautiful women in their designs.

Brian Mercer- Clutch, Eyehategod, Black Tusk, Zoroastor, Lamb of God and a lot more
http://mercerrock.com/index.php
This guy again does mainly posters and flyers for bands and festivals. Again he's got a unique style with the use of skulls and sculptures.

Ok I'm going to stop typing now and just give you links.

Florian Bertmer - Agoraphobic Nosebleed, 16.
http://florianbertmer.blogspot.com/

David Dandrea - Shrinebuilder, OM, Agalloch, Ludicra

Tulimyrsky Design, which operates in Finland, is a graphic design studio that designs CD and DVD cover art, websites(layout and coding), logos, merchandise, promotional material etc.

Studio is specialized in making graphics to metal bands and it also keeps pricing flexible, so bands whom make self-published cds or demos would have the opportunity to get professionally
made album covers and websites.

Since there has been a lot of buzz around the favourite album art award, I figured this thread needs a bump.

So here's two artist from the list that have some really cool work

Rickard Westman
http://www.rickardwestman.com/

It's not surprising that he does a lot of childrens books as well coz the Vildhjarta art is quite story bookish.
I can't really find any work of his for other bands, but Century Media is on his client list, so I guess he has done some other bands.

Fursy Teyssier
http://www.lesdiscrets.com/

Apart from the two covers that are on the MS list(Alcest and Les Discrets) he's done work for Agalloch, Woods of Ypress and Amesoeurs to name a few. But my favourite has to be the Alcest-Écailles de Lune album cover.

Edit: Totally forgot about this one
Alice Duke: She did the Cormorant Dwellings art, she's got some really colourful illustrations

Alfred Kubin. Between Symbolism and Expressionism art. He wrote too and some even say that Kafka took a lot of element from his drawings and his book The Otherside.

Jep jep, he's definitely a very talented artist. I love his use of colours. We just call him Chax or The Chaxster, sounds a lot better than Niklas

Lucas Ruggieri
He's got some really cool work, a lot of detailing. He's done work for bands like Kylesa and Black Tusk, possibly other Savannah sludge metal bands too as he's from the area.
Anyway this is one of his personal works, some really intricate detailing.

It's been a while since someone's posted here.

Anyway here is another really kickass poster artist.

Vance Kelly

This is a merch design he did for The Sword. It's one of my favourite tees, but it's fading

You can check some of his other artwork here.

Holy crap, I didn't know Whelan also did album covers.

Gustave Dore is one of my fav's. He's a 19th century artist mostly known for his engravings of Dante's Inferno, Paradise Lost, The Bible etc. and his work pops up on Metal covers occasionally, mostly black metal albums.

Zdzisław Beksiński is my absolute favorite. He didn't do artwork for bands, but I know that his art has been used by bands. Renowned Polish painter. Stabbed to death in his appartment in 2005. His artwork is dark and atmospheric. Almost horror-like.

Oh yeah Beksinski is crazy. I think a lot of people have seen his work, but just don't know it's him. I think someone on this forum has a Beksinski as their profile.
