I think the best metallica song is One.
But it was hard to decide because they have a lot of good songs (except the whole st anger thing)

Well i can't decide, either The Unforgiven or Fade to Black

This is a hard one as they do have some ace songs...i reallllly like battery oohh ohhh and seek and destroy...yeah its definately out of those two

The Four Horsemen & Jump in the Fire

Uh that's a tough one! But I take "To live is to die", because this has some personal meaning and is a very important song for me.

One, Battery (Machine Head covered it in their new album and its awesome), The Unforgivens, Jump In The Fire, and I actually enjoy Until It Sleeps, no one mentioned it so I must be a tardface but I don't care

I always only liked "One"...dont ask me why, cant tell exactly...

My favorite is Sad But True but I love all of their songs. if I have to make a top 5 (here, I don't have to but... that's it!!) I will do this...

After all these years I still like One above all, it is just a song that encompasses everything that was Metallica in that time.
