Making my 1st kutte - where to find cheap patches?

So as the title says, I'm making my 1st kutte and I started doing it from scratch (got a denim jacket and cut the sleeves off and now I'm making some adjustments to its size). Pretty soon I'll be at the point where I'm ready to add some patches to it. I'm not too fond of new metal bands in general, so what I'm mainly looking for is patches of oldschool heavy/thrash/power/speed bands. I know there's patches on ebay but the prices seem just a bit off for me. So where do you find and buy cheap patches?

TL;DR I'm making a kutte and I lack some cheap patches. Any tips would be appreciated.

Kick ass links

Woah thanks! This really does inspire me to get one... Shame the first 2 links have like no info about the sizes but still, great shit. It'll take me such a long time to decide for the main back patch though!

Yeah i've taken a risk with the first one and bought 9. The second one has had good normal sizes apart from the Meads of Asphodel one which turned out to be quite big and I had to cut it down.

It's also worth emailing the ebay people if you want something changed or want it bigger / smaller etc. I had my Sunn O))) custom made as I couldn't find a decent size one anywhere.

Really cheap grind and punk (and some other stuff) patches

Shotloads of patches, also very cheap

Great eBay page which does 4 patches for the price of 3. Mostly black metal though

Another eBay one. Quite a lot of variety

That's a good selection indeed, it'll take some time to go through though .

Thanks for sharing it.

An update on the first link I mentioned in my post:

The reason it's so cheap is because they're printed on pieces of flimsy fabric. I wouldn't mind so much but the fabric is then cut into squares in the most haphazard fashion imaginable, and you end up with a bunch of oddly shaped rectangles. Most of them I could cut up myself and sort out the funny angles but the one thing that really annoyed me was that the Carcass patch looks like a blob with almost no definition and detail on the inside parts. Am going to ask them to send another one.

Photos in case anyone wants to order anything from there. If they send me another Carcass one then I'm happy as the print quality in general was fine and clear.

[EDIT]

Got a friendly email back saying they'll sort it out after the weekend as they're off seeing bands.

These ones look alright, at least from the distance the picture was taken. I might order from there, as the prices are affortable and the dealer seems reliable.

I'm still browsing for options and I'm open to suggestions. Now, after spending more time exploring at ebay I've come up w/ pretty good finds. I'll post some here later when I'm done.

EDIT: I bought few from here ebay link prices mostly 2.30-3.50 euro for small patches. Not too shabby.

Those guys who sold me the dodgy patch are sending me a free one to make up for it. Ordered a few more off them so when they arrive I'll have all the patches I need. Now need to find a suitable jacket.

Well, I started from XL sized jacket and ended up with about M sized vest. it took quite some time to sew it up by hand, but now it feels worth it because the vest suits pretty nicely.

Needs more patches though.

Good thing I found this thread! I have been wanting to make myself one of these for years, but just haven't gotten to it yet. I bought a vest not long ago (Cheated a bit there, since I didn't have to cut the arms off a jacket.) Ended up bying a load of patches the other day, from patchnoir on eBay, thanks to the links in this thread. Now I just have to wait till the patches arrive, and bring out the needle and thread.

Will standard thin sewing thread do?

Technically it just links to their profile page, they don't get a notification or anything. You have to quote them in order for that to work.

I hate embroidered patches. The black fabric ones look so much better.

Angryyoungandpoor.com is a good place. It's mostly punk, but they still have a bunch of metal stuff as well. That's where I bought a bunch of mine.

Great name for that website. And quite fitting for a lot of its customers I would think.

Never did get around to the death metal jacket. Mainly because most of the patches would have been custom made. Got a quote off ebay and these would have cost me £150 odd.

Haha, nope. I was going to cannibalise my Portal Outre' t-shirt for the big back patch

Awesome. I have a jacket with a Corrupted back patch and I have no idea what the theme should be. Doom doesn't seem all that fitting and I'm not sure I want a crust/sludge one just yet.

Oh man, I've been waiting for this design to come back in stock for the guy's shirts for years now, and here it is in girly size. I may have to get this for a future back patch. Amazingly only £12 in total (£4 postage, unheard of).

I'd say get some Acid Bath, Fudge Tunnel and a bunch of other cult sludge stuff.

I'm not sure there's really enough cult sludge bands to fill the whole jacket. Maybe I should put some Godflesh on it or something similar.
