If nothing else, definitely a groovy mix. Can't say i'm a fan of most of it, aside from hollenthon, wintersun, Ihsahn, and Rage.
Vestige is fucking amazing.

Tbh, i couldn't find a lot of stuff in Extreme metal that can be termed groovy and a lot of them that were groovy was stinking mainstream. So i've tried to balance it as much as possible.

Needs more brutal death metal - especially bands like Putrid Pile and Benighted.
3rdWorld - 09.03.2012 at 18:26
Sure, Troy.

Speaking of which, is there any really, really cool ,groovy 3 inches of blood song, in existence?

I don't know why I'm the person to ask

I enjoy Deadly Sinners A LOT.

I think Putrid Pile is a pretty groovy bdm project.

Also, Blood Red Throne's first two full-lengths. Not brutal death metal, but still some groove-tastic death metal. And Bolt Thrower.
Mr. Doctor - 14.03.2012 at 22:34
Benighted is rpetty damn groovy to me as well.

Kronos is definitely groovier than both Benighted and Putrid Pile.

I wouldn't call them groovier but they definitely deserve a spot here too.

I never said groovier so I don't know why you were pointing other bands out when I was just talking about Benighted who deserves a place here.

But I don't care about that tbh.... because you know.... There's also the fact that I see no Kyuss on this list and that makes me sad and dissapointed in so many levels. Fathers of stoner metal and pretty much one of THE groove bands. To me, groove and Kyuss go hand in hand.

I just meant to say that if Benighted or PP were to be on this list, that would be here after Kronos is here because i am searching for DM bands that are more groovy than the rest of the brutal stuff, I've already heard or aware of. I'll add 'em when i see there is a considerable amount of stuff.

It's been years since i last listened to Sons of Kyuss. Their other records i am yet to check out. Now that you mentioned them, QOTSA wouldn't seem too bad either.
Mr. Doctor - 18.03.2012 at 18:07
Kyuss s/t (AKA Welcome To Sky Valley) is the epitome of groove and coolness in metal imo.

Queen's Songs For The Deaf is pretty awesome too.

Is this groovy? I honestly have no idea how to classify something as groovy...
