Just because you're knees-deep in the swamps of death doom doesn't mean you can't experiment with progressive and technical compositions. Slimelord show how it's done.

A Real Mönkey
Excellent. More swampy 20 Buck Spin death doom in the veins of Worm, Dream Death and Spectral Voice.

Wow what a great album! I was expecting this to be a lower quality Worm tbh but it's definitely not, the last three tracks in particular are fantastic.

Gonna have to check this one out!

They're in the vein of Worm and Spectral Voice but have a slightly more complex (even progressive at times) structure. The second half of the album is much better imo, the last track especially.

For those that don't know, 3/5 of the members in the band play in Cryptic Shift, which might explain why this particular slab of XXBS death/doom has an unexpectedly proggy slant to it

I just heard about it on the recommendation of a friend. I'm struck by how swampy and complex it sounds. It is very promising. I can't believe I overlooked it. 😂

I am pleased i found this after some digging. i am not a huge fan of long meandering tracks but these songs go to some really fun places, it all feels very bold and deliberate, it sounds like they know exactly where they want to take the listener without being afraid to experiment. i am not sure about doom tag though? regardless of genre, its a very good album

I'm hearing lot of Sleestak here. As Andy said, 2nd half is swift with last 3 tracks showing strength of the album.
