Trudger - Void Quest

First time listening to this band, they've not been the most active considering how long they've been around for. I have to say this is some pretty solid sludge kinda in the vein of Mastodon, bone-crushingly heavy, I like it.

Absolute smoking riff-fest - easily the best sludge album out this year thus far. The Dvne connections among the band's past/present band members doesn't surprise me, not necessarily due to extensive similarity but just sheer quality. 8 bordering on 9 for me currently, I can imagine with more listens this will rocket up my EOY list.

Edit: fuck it, it's a 9, no other album this year has half as many elite riffs as this one

Oh I haven’t come out of “Illusory Path“ yet. It is my second sitting with the album and everything so far thrown at me is more qualitative than Dormiveglia did(R'Vannith though covered brilliantly).

Solid, not mind-blowing. But my oh my, that closer is a true banger. Will def be on rotation for me for a long time!!

Find the Sludge to be slightly more dissonant to my usual liking.
