Much like 2024, a year with a lot of very good albums, but few truly great ones - still the cream has risen to the top. I'm very confident on the albums in my top 10, if not necessarily that precise order - the remaining 15 are a rough vibes check on a bunch of other records I have enjoyed over the past 12 months, with a few honorable mentions missing out including Abigail Williams, Qrixkuor and Suotana.

Perhaps a reflection on my opinion of the years' relative strengths: Fallujah's last album Empyrean was ranked lower in my 2022 EOY list than Xenotaph is in this list, but I'd probably have Empyrean in the top 5 of this list, and Xenotaph likely wouldn't chart in 2022. Still, it's an album I very much enjoy.

Very interesting and diverse list here, some albums I really like myself, however, others I've not necessarily taken to that much.

Some very high picks here I’ve missed out on so far. I wasn’t quite as taken with Pothamus as you were but maybe this is a sign I need to revisit again.
