Angel of Retribution is a gem to behold in the metal world. Judas Priest returns with their original vocalist Rob Halford and you could not ask for more. Halford gives his finest, and the confidence of the rest of the band radiates out of the CD. You will be grabbed by this CD the moment it fades into "Judas Rising". "Judas Rising" is a perfect compass to the album. The heavy beats and classic high-pitched Halford are reminiscent of the days of "Jugulator"; especially "Cathedral Spires". If this song appeals to you, you will certainly not be disappointed by the remaining songs. The sounds are similar but not repetitive and that is important. They keep an identity throughout the album; a sort of cohesive creativity. These attributes hold true for all songs with the exception of the final three.

Nostradamus in my opinion was not a bad albulm but not their best also... curious to see how epitaph will sound without KK

Yes, but Nostradamus was a different kind of Priest album, so I'm excluding that one. But it wasn't as bad as some people described it although I can understand why it wasn't very well accepted.

I love this album! As a comeback album for Priest, I really couldn't have asked for more. I love the variation of material, they covered a lot of their career stylewise, with this album.

"Hellrider", "Deal With The Devil" and "Angel" alone makes this album worth every listen.

Ok reality check time- their worst album with Halford and yes I'd put it below Turbo, Point of Entry, and Ram it Down..A tired Priest on total auto-pilot and an almost senseless if not underwhelming return for Halford as well. Judas is Rising and Angel would be good 2nd or 3rd tier songs on Priest's past albums, but that's about it. Loch Ness hints at the direction they'd take on Nostradamus, but I can't call it a worthwhile song.

Probably my favorite of the more commercialized Priest albums. Manages to be very accessible while also not completely falling into a generic arena rock style like a lot of their 80s releases.

Sadly kind of boring and dragging pretty much all the time. Even songs I tend to like when it was released (Hellrider, Worth Fighting for) feels bland and dated in some way. Far from the quality of Resurrection and Crucible by Halford and also weaker than both Owens fronted records. Judas Rising and Deal With the Devil is an okey opening and Angel and Eulogy works well breaking the otherwise kind of monotonous work. But that's really about it.

Having Halford back as main vocalist was great, although his performance wasn't exactly at his best on this record. The quality sound of old had returned, it had the break neck speed, catchy killer riffs, and great solo's, but it just lacks those quality stand out tracks. For me "Hellrider" is by far the best track on this album, and "Angel" wasn't too bad either, but the rest was average imo.

Nothing especially good if we look at all the songs together; Judas Rising is good beginning after which it does go uninspired, low speed, forgettable song writing.

Lowered the rating from what I put previously, this time it was hard to listen it fully.
