Instead of releasing a classic follow-up to the debut they released a "live" album instead with new songs. They got a new singer here that's a lot better than the one on the debut. It's ones of those live albums where you can very clearly hear that the audience noise is put in there in the mixing stage (sadly very common in the 70's and 80's and it sounds like shit). The way the band sounds as well makes me wonder if this is at all live. Whatever.

Three of the songs here would be featured on later studio albums (Reach for the Sky, The Fugitive and Eye of the Sun) and these are the three best tracks on here by far, all three are actually excellent heavy metal. I would even say I prefer the versions of Reach for the Sky and Eye of the Sun that's on here to the later versions. The rest is for the most part very different music wise to what we know as Cloven Hoof. It sounds american and an attempt to be some what commercial. They also throw in a Tom Jones cover (fun enough the singer Cloven Hoof hired after this album, Russ North, looks like a dead ringer for Tom Jones).

Not good. Based on the music it's overall a 5 but the sound and the fake audience sound drags it down to a 4.
