Hhahahah yeah. I remember how the first song was like "oh, this is actually a bit decent" and then it went downhill from there...
The awful thing is that I listened to some of the songs right now just for the hell of it... It wasn't even funny, just plain fucking annoying. It doesn't even work as a joke album.

Edit: Found amusing how you gave it a higher rating while I gave The Browning a higher rating.

I heard only "Aberration" and "The End", but damn! All I can say is it fucking sucks.
Even Sin Nanna can do better than that.

And the rating continues to plummet. Any more votes and it will probably end up on the bottom 20 list.

Aw, c'mon. Leave Ill Innocence alone. That's an awsome album. Even though I rated it highly, I can see why people hate The End. It isn't even an aquired taste. Like a Limp Bizkit album (another of my favorite bands). Hmm, Gallhammer, Limp Bizkit... I mightn't have much credability left.

Nah, don't thinks so. Remove Delerium Daydream and get a decent lead vocalist (don't ditch Reaper - I love that voice) and I'd give it a 10.

I blame the band itself with its talentless ugly skanks. Naming your band Gallhammer after another crap, yet influential band, Hellhammer isn't the smartest thing to do. But in comparison to Gallhammer Hellhammer are masters.

They don't deserve the level of promotion that Peaceville gives them. They're promoted like they're Judas Priest, the Spice Girls and Cream all rolled into one. Their sound is never going to be popular, even among the metal and punk fans their music MIGHT appeal to. Gallhammer are one of those bands which, like the aforementioned Hellhammer and possibly Gwar as another example, are disliked by most, but will have a small fan base that enjoy their music to the bewilderment of those that don't.

Hellhammer is liked by most. Extreme metal fans disliking Hellhammer are in a huge minority. Gwar's music is fun but nothing more and they totally ride on their shows which are immense fun.

Yes, talentless ugly skanks. Talentless because they lack talent, ugly because they are (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) and skanks, well at least one is using Maniac in no uncertain terms to get the band even more attention. And btw who says I never met them? I did, and even if I hadn't I can draw my own conclusions. But apparently we have to be all nice and dandy about other people.

Talentless is relevent to the discussion, as it is about the band's music. Ugly is as you said, but isn't relevent to the topic. The skank part, however, is the kind of thing that can derail an intelegent debate abd see it spiral into petty namecalling.
Slaughter and Maniac met when Skitliv were the support act for Gallhammer on some tour FOLLOWING the release of Ill Innocence. They had already been signed to Peaceville (it was Darkthrone who got them there), so Maniac had little to no imact on Gallhammer, other than some minor increase in the band's exposure. And since when was it skanky behavior to marry someone? I know there's a fair age difference, but he's not exactly an 80 year old billionaire, is he?
If most people like Hellhammer, most of the haters must be here, since I rarely see anything good said about them here.

Definitely one of the more objective critiques I've read. Kudos.

Although Marcel has a point about Hellhammer. I'd say the majority of extreme metal fans like them - or at least pretend to.

You know what? My tastes hav changed a lot in a decade. I remembr listened to this album at Marcel's place during my first Roadburn trip. H was supposed to review it. We thought the first track was decent, almost quite good. Then the second was like "ehh,..what". Then came fucking "Aberration" which doesn't need much description besides the title itself. We were laughing our asses off though. Good memories. I miss you, dude.

Ok, nostalgia aside. I think I'm going to listen to their three albums soon-ish to see where I stand now. I recall really wanting to like the first two albums but couldn't.

I head "Aberration" yesterday for the heck of it and it's still hilariously bad. So this album in particular might still suck. Let's find out!
