I remember when I bought "Adrenaline" back in 1995 or something; it was one of the most intense and original albums of that time, a lot of dudes out there started saying "Wooow like?Deftones is so cool like?yeaah". Some years passed by, and those same dudes who used to worship that type of bands found that Dimmu Borgir was oh! so brutal, that Dani Filth was actually Satan in disguise and that Children Of Bodom was potent as fucking hell?Turns out that if you now like Deftones you're the hugest poseur on earth?isn't it funny how hypocritical people can be sometimes?

This is ultimately a weird album. Even by Deftones' standards.

I don't get why this album gets so much hate, it's one of their more diverse albums and pretty great all around. Pretty funny though that despite the greater diversity most the songs end up having a heavier, groovier bridge, regardless of the style around it.

I'm starting to find this bands style to be very good for background music, the vocals are calming and gentle, and although there's nothing necessarily exciting about this album, they create a certain ambience with the soft melodic approach.

"Cherry Waves", and "Combat" are my pick as favourites, but some songs don't do it for me at all especially "Pink Cellphone", which I thought was an awful song imo. Overall it's not a bad album, better than the previous release, but fairly inconsistent. It has pretty horny album cover too

Cherry Waves is one of their best songs. The post elements in this album are amazing but sometimes Chino’s moaning goes a little over the top.
