I call myself a big fan of Freedom Call, having enjoyed their early albums such as Eternity but also the quite innovative Legend Of The Shadowking, in which the German band displayed a huge improvement on the songwriting level, even maintaining its typical style. Unfortunately, Land Of The Crimson Dawn is a worrying step backwards in quality.

One has to be very sure of his own sexuallity while listening to this, certainly. The whole "we are metal warriors" thing embarrasses me. I still love the epic bombastic ones, though.

This album sounds like new Edguy. It's fusion of hard, heavy and power but more catchy. Not bad but not even good.

I think it's a very strong album with catchy speedy songs! My favourite after Eternity!

Aaaaaahhhh! Soooo cheesy. Damn, I know this is Freedom Call but they have undone themselves. The reason why I liked their last album so much was that while it was still kind of cheesy it was more tasteful. But this is just unabashed inglorious cheesiness.

Which might have been a selling point for me once but I'm cringing on a lot of these songs.

That said it has some good moments.

Didn't sound like a good album in the beginning but it is great. Except for Hero On Video which sucks so bad, might be the worst song ever. Terra Liberty is my favorite right now.

Question: do I lose my credibility if Rockstars has grown on me and now I love it? I still hate Hero On Video if that helps...

At first I thought that only Age of the Phoenix and perhaps Crimson Dawn can be considered as good songs, but after some time I believe now that this entire album is very good. Not as heavy metal as their previous albums and perhaps almost as soft as the last piece from Edguy, but definitely very catchy and I like it much more than the Age of the Joker. The only songs that I don't like so much are Eternity and Space Legends, but that's just personal preference.

What a shame!
After the release of "THE LEGEND OF THE SHADOWKING" I had really good expectations about this one. But after hear it a couple of times...I realize that they change their powerfull metal by a very poor rock and roll.
Sure that the departure of Dan, had to end on this SHAME!
Freedom Call isn't the same without him!

I just came here to say that this is the most ridiculous album I've heard in my life. I don't think that even they take their music seriously. I'm amazed.

EDIT: actually, bonus CD is much better LOL. I'll give them that.

Yes it is a very cheesy album, and I don't think the band take themselves very seriously on a lot of songs here. BUT not every album needs to be all serious and "thinking man's metal", not at all. Very fine and glorious melodies, exciting pacing, nice variety, excellent vocals here and there as well. A fun and easy listen with a positive uplifting factor. Some favorites include "Age Of The Phoenix", "Crimson Dawn", "Back Into The Land Of Light", "Eternity", "Terra Liberty" and "Space Legends". I'm looking forward to my next meeting with Chris and co. Very good album!

This is pretty average by Freedom Call standards (or even Power Metal itself), but there are some decent songs here. Unfortunately, they are very few and far between, but it's still a passable album. Incidentally when I saw the band at Bloodstock the majority of their setlist covered songs from this record, and I distinctly remember enjoying the set a lot.

There are some really terrible songs here ("66 Warriors", "Rockin' Radio"), cringeworthy ones ("Rockstars"), but then there are crackers like the sub-title track and the extra metallic "Terra Liberty". So yeah, it's inconsistent but far from anything bad overall.

"Eternity", "Terra Liberty", "Killer Gear" are great tracks but the problem of this album for me is that it's way too long. I would remove the horrible "Hero On A Video" & "Rockin' Radio"
