Although life keeps pushing everybody towards cynicism, it should not lead to inaction. Bernie would have at least tried and that might have been good enough.

Bernie would have changed nothing. Politicians are not looking out for you.

I think the term middleclass is also obselete, there isn't really a middleclass anymore

'Captured' is too strong a word I think, but when Democrats are rich enough to benefit personally from Trump's policies, the working/middle classes simply do not believe they represent them anymore.

Bernie Sanders is the closest thing the US ever got to an actual leftist and they just threw him under the bus
