Death Mask (USA-NY) formed in New York City in 1984, with the partnering of Guitarist Benny Ransom and Vocalist Steven Michaels, who along with Bassist Chris Eichhorn and Drummer Lee Nelson quickly developed into one of the more popular Heavy Metal bands in the New York Metro area, leading to a record contract with London's Killerwatt Records, and the 1986 release of 'Split The Atom'.

Sadly, internal issues led to the demise of Death Mask (USA-NY) soon thereafter, with Ransom and Michaels going their separate ways in 1987. But the story does not end there, for thanks to an underground following spread around the world, Death Mask (USA-NY) is still being enjoyed by metal fans, 23 years after the release of their debut album, and continues to be discovered by new listeners across the globe.

In May 2009, Retrospect Records will re-release 'Split The Atom' with 5 new never-released bonus tracks, bringing Death Mask (USA-NY) back to fans old and new. And in early 2010, look for the release of 'Sitting In The Dark', and album of brand new music by the reformed team of Benny Ransom and Steven Michaels, and the rest of Death Mask (USA-NY)!!!
