Biography
Since their inception in the early part of the year 2001, Manchester's Beecher have been on a mission to further the constraints of conventional music classification.
The quintet recorded their debut MCD 'Resention' (In At The Deep End Records - 2002). On the back of this release the band received widespread critical acclaim. This coupled with their incendiary live show alongside the likes of Converge, Cave In, American Nightmare, Melt Banana and Sikth, left a procession of converts to the cause.
In February 2003, Beecher decamped to Boston, Mass - USA to record 'Breaking the fourth wall' with respected producer Kurt Ballou (Converge, Cave In, American Nightmare, Old Man Gloom, Drowningman, The Hope Conspiracy) at Godcity Studios. Aaron Turner of Hydrahead Industries was also suitably impressed enough to provide the artwork for their debut full length.
Following it's initial release in July 2003 via Calculated Risk Products - the album received rave reviews (KKKK - Kerrang!, 8/10 Metal Hammer, 8/10 Rocksound, 8/10 Terrorizer) the band set about touring themselves into the ground supporting it, playing alongside such rock royalty as Isis, Killswitch Engage, Poison The Well, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Locust, Cult Of Luna, Norma Jean and Ephel Duath amongst others.
On the back of these successes the band were asked to record an exclusive live session for the Radio One Rock Show, which remains the largest rock based radio show in the world. The station were so enamoured with their performance, that it was repeated on air for an unprecedented second time.
Fast forward to 2005, and legendary extreme music label Earache recognised the tremendous potential of the band, and are releasing 'Breaking the fourth wall' worldwide for the first time, as well as the hotly anticipated follow up later this year. With the fourth wall already broken, is there anything else to stop them?
