Biography
At long last they are back! Three years after their critically acclaimed ?Thunderdome" album, Germany based hard rock heroes PINK CREAM 69 deliver their eagerly awaited new longplayer. For a number of reasons ?In10sity" is a special album in the band's history. On the one hand it marks the band's debut for their new label, Frontiers Records. On the other it is the band's tenth regular studio effort and celebrates it's 20th anniversary.
PINK CREAM 69 has been founded back in 1987 by singer Andi Deris, guitarist Alfred Koffler, drummer Kosta Zafiriou and later on completed by bass-player Dennis Ward. After winning a band competition the band signed a multi-album deal with major record label Epic (Sony Music BMG). After the hugely successful first album "Pink Cream 69" (1989), the follow-ups ?One Size Fits All" (1991) and ?Games People Play" (1993) landed high in the official German and Japanese album charts. Intensive touring with internationally renowned acts like WHITE LION and EUROPE helped Pink Cream 69 to gain a big and loyal fan base all over the world.
Due to musical and personal differences, singer Andi Deris left the band in 1994 to join HELLOWEEN and also to pursue a solo career. After auditioning various singers, Deris was replaced by Englishman David Readman, debuting on the band's 1995 album ?Change". Recorded with internationally renowned producer Shay Baby (BRUCE DICKINSON, SCORPIONS) in Los Angeles the album sounded surprisingly current and fresh. 1997's ?Food For Thought" managed to combine the band's new direction with it's roots even better. A true masterpiece in itself.
After the release of the live album "#Live#" in the same year, PINK CREAM 69 went another major step on. The band re-thought their actual musical strengths and re-adjusted their direction even more - ?Electrified" (1998) saw the band one hundred percent back on the hard rock track! The album achieved rave reviews from both sides: fans and press. The impressive single "Shame" accompanied by a video has been followed by a tour in the special guest slot for the mighty Bruce Dickinson and his solo band. A very positive situation indeed that has even been topped by the following album ?Sonic Dynamite" (2000), which broke into the official German album charts again.
The band proved their excellent form once again with 2001's ?Endangered" album before news emerged that guitarist Alfred Koffler suffered from Focal Dystonia, a serious disease that affected his left hand and his playing. For upcoming live shows the band recruited second guitarist Uwe Reitenauer to relieve Alfred's situation on stage. In 2004 PINK CREAM 69 released the aforementioned ?Thunderdome". The album again entered the German album charts and was touted by many fans as one of the band's best albums to date.
2007 marks the full force return of PINK CREAM 69. Strenghtened by second guitarist Uwe Reitenauer - now a regular member - the band delivers another brilliant piece of Melodic Metal! ?In10sity" was recorded from October 2006 to January 2007 at the famous House Of Music studios near Stuttgart/Germany and once again was produced by Dennis Ward. Besides a truly dynamic and explosive production the album blows the listener away with a blistering set of songs. ?Crossfire", ?No Way Out", ?Last Train To Nowhere", ?Stop The Madness" just to name a few, feature all the classic PINK CREAM 69 trademarks: a focused songwriting style, energetic vocals and a tremendous guitar work.
?Thanks to the addition of Uwe Reitenauer as second guitarist, we have the opportunity to realize many ideas on guitars where we previously used keyboards. The new record is much more guitar-driven than our last productions," drummer Kosta Zafiriou states. And he is right - ?In10sity" is a full blast of stadium hard rock power!
