Nova Orbis - Biography
Biography
Symphonic metal is an unexpected export from Colombia, but Nova Orbis came across the mountains of South America and overcame their build-up to a very solid and melodic sound with plenty of depth and emotion. Strong and clean female vocals, flamboyant keyboard play and theatrical male orations keep their music interesting and enjoyable throughout.
Their debut album Imago, released nationally in 2009 and internationally in 2010, is a mature and eclectic mix of songs and styles that shows why Nova Orbis is Colombia's new metal export. Imago received positive reviews in different European, Canadian and American online and printed magazines, such as Fireworks and Terrorizer (UK), Artists and Bands (Italy), Sonic Cathedral (USA), Metalswitzerland (Switzerland), among others.
The band was formed in Bogotá, Colombia in 2005 by David Martinez (keyboards), Jose D. Barajas (guitar), Ana Barajas (voice), Jorge Gutierrez (Guitar), Rodolfo Caliz (Bass) and Jose F. Osorio (Drums).
