Biography
The band was formed in 1999 by guitar player Daniele Mazzanti and ex singer Alessandro Mazzini. Differences in musical taste led to changes which caused the band to evolve from Hard Rock/Heavy Metal to classic Power-Metal with the final members Matteo Vellucci (drums and percussion), Diego Testa (bass guitar), Andrea Di Cesare (guitar) and Alessandro Antonelli (voice). In July 2003 the band finished recording its first album "Kiss of the Shadow" at Scandellara Studios.
In the following months the band performed several times, especially in the underground pubs of the area (The Field, Transilvania Horror Rock Cafè, Moebius, etc.).
After an intense song writing session, in July 2004, the new demo "Thinking About Infinity" recorded at Fear Studios (in Alfonsine, Ravenna) confirmed the identity of the five musicians, enlivening up a power metal whit polychromatic structure that sweeps from trash "Pantera-esque" riffing to little parenthesis of classic music or Medieval. The album was reviewed by several Italian and foreign webzines and magazines with successful results.
Wanting to create a thicker sound, and add new emotional nuances, DreamSteel started to look for a keyboard player. They played for a while with Simone Goretti, but after some months he left the band, as well as Andrea Di Cesare, for divergences in musical approach.
Deciding for the only Daniele Mazzanti's guitar, the band played some live shows with the keyboardist Marco Zichittella, who, after this experience, became a permanent member, marking the last change to the band's line up.
In September 2006 DreamSteel finished to record their last work "The flight of a butterfly" at Fear Studios. With this last album the band discovered a new progressive melodic vain definitely finding a total personal sound.
They started an intense work in promoting their music, also with the collaboration of the new band manager Lara Pibiri and forwarded the new demo tape to many recording labels in Europe and USA, hoping to receive some proposals for an upcoming collaboration. Also thanks to several good reviews in the best webzines, the band increased his visibility through all the metal music world.
DreamSteel fell in touch with Francesco Palumbo and decided to carry out a strong collaboration with My Kingdom Music. Band and label will join forces with next studio album plus live shows to follow.
The new album "YOU" came out last February 29th and has been enthusiastically reviewed in the best worldwide magazines and webzines.
DreamSteel are now already pre-producing new songs for the next album.
