Biography
Mondstille was formed in 2004 by Markus (Wrath) and David (Leandín). The band began to take shape between 2005 and 2006 when the first instrumental ideas came into being consisting of melodious acoustic and heavy e-guitars. It was decided, to round off this concept with vocals in their German mother-tongue.
Phil (P.) joined the band in early 2006 and so the drums were manned. The band was nearly complete then and the first songs were finished. For the debut concert in the course of Dornenreich's acoustic tour the gifted musicians Iris (Víndsvôl, flute) and Ludwig (Lundár, violin) could be recruited. After this successful concert the band focused on writing more songs and on the release of their first album. Thanks to P.'s energetic support the band could perform some concerts with well known bands, thus gathering more stage experience.
The time had come to enter the studios. They decided to record their debut album at the Soulsick Records Studios. Little by little the acoustic songs and after a short break the heavier electric guitar songs were recorded. Because the drums were unoccupied at this time a session guest had to be found for this task. Fortunately, they could engage Krimh (Decapitated) who turned out to be the best person for this job.
The complete album has been re-mastered by Stefan Fasan as the band was quite displeased with the sound. The finished album called Am Ende... (At the end...) was released by White Bird Records. Unfortunately, after the band got only 100 copies, the label broke off all contact. So the other 400 CD's are rotting away in a cellar somewhere in Germany.
After that, the band took a break to bundle their creativity and decided to write a full metal album. All tracks were recorded at home and Norbert Leitner (Udio Media) mixed/mastered the CD.
Seelenwund was released on February 6th 2012.
