Babymetal formed in 2010. The band's major debut single Ijime, Dame, Zettai and 2nd single Megitsune both reached the Oricon chart TOP10. Numerous appearances at national outdoor festivals included Summer Sonic 2013.
In March 2014, they set the record of being the youngest female act to play a one-man live at Nippon Budokan. Furthermore, the band's debut album Babymetal reached the United States Billboard chart. The same year, they held their first world tour from summer, performing on the main stage at Sonisphere Festival UK to a crowd of 60,000 people, and serving as support act for Lady Gaga for five performances in the United States. In the fall of the same year, they played a one-man live in New York, with an additional performance in London.
In January 2015, a one-man live show was held in Saitama Super Arena, drawing a crowd of 20,000. The live album Live At Budokan ~Red Night~ was mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Ted Jensen (Sterling Sound). "Metal Resistance" of Babymetal has expanded rapidly across the world.
