Silence in the Grey was formed after the demise of Andrew and Kurt's previous band. They were looking for a heavier sound that could not be achieved in Elephant Sun. They recruited Mike Glasser to play bass. Since then their sound has changed from a mid-tempo Stoner Rock band to a super heavy Doom Metal band drawing influence from Death Metal, Classical Music, and Black Metal, creating a completely new and diverse sound
