Oracles - Biography
Biography
Founded in 2014, Oracles quickly became a transnational project featuring well-seasoned musicians Sanna Salou, Sven de Caluwé (Aborted), Ken Bedene (Aborted), Mendel Bij de Leij (Aborted), Steve Miller (ex-System Divide) and Andrei Aframov (ex-Onoma).
Oracles set out to revolutionise the conventions and borders of modern metal by seemlessly blending melody, groove and shreddhing technicality. The band recorded a debut 4-track EP, entitled Miserycorde, which breaks all the rules of extreme metal and is the birth of something truly unique.
As opposed to interjecting simple, predictable clean choruses into contrived song structures, Oracles unite serene female vocals and extreme vocals driven by lyrical themes that confront and seek to break everyday themes of disillusionment, societal materialism and individual apathy wrapped in an occult theme.
Musicially, the band delivers myriad styles of technical riffing and groovs, while augmenting the entrancing soundscapes with hard-hitting drums and intricate bass line. These elements together define the unique spell-binding and hypnotic sound of Oracles.
