More than 30 years after their most recent album Seeking Refuge, Excel bassist Shaun Ross confirmed in a recent interview with 'In Effect Hardcore' that the band is currently tracking their long-awaited fourth full-length album, in hopes of having it released by mid-2026. The record will be Excel's first with the new lineup of Ross, Dan Clements (vocals), Greg Cerwonka (guitars) and Damon De La Paz (drums).

After 30 years since their most recent studio album Seeking Refuge, and nearly 15 years since they reunited, L.A. crossover thrash metal legends Excel have been tracking their long-awaited fourth studio album at Sun Sick Studios, with the drum tracks having already completed. Venice Beach crossover thrash legends Excel have announced a new lineup, with founding members Dan Clements (vocals) and Shaun Ross (bass) joined by guitarist Greg Cerwonka (Take Offense, Cold Stare, Rod Of Correction, ex-Turnstile) and drummer Damon De La Paz (Posercorpse). The band have also announced that they have begun working on new material for their first studio album since 1995's Seeking Refuge, tentatively due later in 2024 or 2025.

It will be released on CD and vinyl this November 18th through Southern Lord Records (both formats will include the bonus track "Blaze Some Hate"), and pre-orders are available here.

Venice crossover band Excel have announced that they are going to reissue their classic second album, The Joke's On You, on vinyl. No release date for the reissue has been set, but according to Southern Lord's Facebook page, it is due for release soon. This will be the second Excel album to receive a reissue treatment on Southern Lord, following the 2014 reissue of the band's classic 1987 debut album, Split Image.
