Venice crossover band Excel have announced that they are going to reissue their classic second album, The Joke's On You, on vinyl. No release date for the reissue has been set, but according to Southern Lord's Facebook page, it is due for release soon. This will be the second Excel album to receive a reissue treatment on Southern Lord, following the 2014 reissue of the band's classic 1987 debut album, Split Image.

The Joke's On You was originally released in 1989 on Caroline Records, and was produced by Randy Burns (known for producing or engineering classic albums by bands such as Death, Possessed, Kreator, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Dark Angel and Nuclear Assault). It was also the last Excel album recorded with the "classic" line-up of Dan Clements (vocals), Shaun Ross (bass), Adam Siegel (guitar) and Greg Saenz (drums), before the latter of the two departed from the band in 1992.
