Finnish Extreme Power Metallers Norther have finished the work on a new upcoming fifth full-length album, simply called "N". The album will be released in Europe through Century Media Records on the following dates:

Finland: Wednesday, February 13th, 2008
Germany / Austria / Switzerland / Benelux / Italy: Friday, February 22nd, 2008
UK / France / Greece / Denmark / Norway / Rest Of Europe: Monday, February 25th, 2008
Spain / Portugal: Tuesday, February 26th, 2008
Sweden / Hungary: Wednesday, February 29th, 2008

A US release date hasn't been announced yet.

The CD was produced by Anssi Kippo (Children Of Bodom) at Astia Studios and mixed by Fredrik Nordström (Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy, In Flames) at Studio Fredman in Sweden.

Bassist Jukka comments as follows: "Our new album "N" is the reflection of our true identity: it stands for North, Norther and never giving up! The new material sounds very melodic and versatile. There are songs in slow and fast mode as well as some totally new elements. Old sound meets new found power - we're reborn! We are more than pleased with the result and very eager to tour and play it live to all of you as soon as possible!"

Finland-based Extreme Power Metallers Norther have announced in a short message on their official website they will enter the Astia Studios in Lappeenranta, Finland in August/September to record their next full length album. The follow-up to 2006's "Till Death Unites Us" will be produced by Anssi Kippo.

Norther's new EP, "No Way Back", will be released in Finland by Suomen Musiikki at the Finnish Metal Expo, which takes place on February 16th and 17th in Helsinki. The EP tracklist is as follows:

The track is featured on the soundtrack to the new Finnish film "V2: Jäätynyt Enkeli", which is being released in Finland on January 5 via King Foo Entertainment. Also scheduled to appear on the soundtrack are Amorphis, Kotipelto and Thunderstone, among other artists.

Finnish metal band Norther announced their new drummer. Heikki Saari who also plays in Virtuocity will be playing the drums for the band from now on.

The Finnish band posted their official statement concerning the departure of Toni Hallio:

"Norther will part ways with drummer Toni Hallio. The decision was totally on Toni's behalf (there are no hard feelings!). Toni wants to focus on other things in the future. Toni wishes all the best for the band and the fans!"
